SEAL OF SAINT PETER´S COLLEGE OF TORIL
“TO CHRIST THROUGH MARY”
The motto of Saint Peter´s College of Toril (SPCT), rightfully proclaims the role of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, in the mystery of Christ and the Church.
By honoring Christ´s Mother and the Mother of Men, the school knows fully well that such relevance will simultaneously cause her Son to be known, loved and glorified.
The torch symbolizes Christ, the Light of All Nations, the True Light that enlightens every man.
The torch is also the symbol of knowledge and of wisdom, gently alluring every Petrean to quest and love for what is true and good.
The keys stand for Saint Peter himself, the patron saint of the school. Placed under the protection of the “ROCK”, Saint Peter´s College of Toril hopes to remain steadfast and true to its mission of forming a Christian community of Toril by spreading God´s kingdom among its youth so that one day “the keys of the kingdom” might be theirs forever.
The monogram represents the congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary who own and administer the school.
The typical coconut palm tree and jagged peaks portray our beloved country, the Philippines, for whom SPCT aims to prepare patriotic, useful and upright citizens.
Lofty Mt. Apo, representing the province of Davao, stands as a majestic witness to SPCT growth and progress in a comparatively short span of time.
The name of this district is “Toril”, meaning cow pasture. The district was named as such because it was once a grazing land for cattle.
