CEAP: Celebrates Communion of Communities

Eleven (11) chosen college students of Saint Peter’s College of Toril joined the annual Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) gathering at SMX Lanang Convention Center last September 29, 2017. The theme of the said celebration was “Communion: Building and Sustaining Communities for Life”, as it was related to the Year of the Communion of Communities, which the Holy Catholic Church is celebrating.

The event started with a morning prayer followed a short program. Sr. Amelia David, ICM received the CEAP 2017 Prodeo et Patria Awardee, as the longest nbumber of years as a member who did an excellent service as Catholic missionary. In her speech, she said, “Catholic School is not just school but a formation school that helps the graduates to live the Gospel of Jesus.”

A Holy Mass followed which was celebrated by Bishop George Rimando. In his homily, he focused on compassion and empathy to our brothers and sisters even if we are different in many ways. Fr. Joel Tabora, Ateneo de Davao University Director and the 2017 CEAP president made an emphasis on Multicultural in Davao City which was really appreciated by the association. “Davao City is a city that addressed differences; Christians, Muslims and Lumads are gathered together, having harmonious relationships,” he said.

At the end of the celebration, a raffle day took place and lunch was enjoyed by everybody. Truly, this once in a lifetime moment to eleven students is worth remembering and life-changing.
